Nirvana was an American rock band formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. The band was founded by Kurt Cobain (lead vocals, guitar) and Krist Novoselic (bass), and later included Dave Grohl (drums). Nirvana is widely recognized as one of the most influential and successful bands of the alternative rock movement, particularly known for popularizing grunge music.
